The District School Board of Niagara (hereafter referred to as the DSBN) hereby invites submissions from General Contractors to pre-qualify to provide bids on various capital projects for a three (3) year period beginning May 1, 2023 and ending April 30, 2026. Only the approved pre-qualified General Contractors will be eligible to submit quotation or tender packages in accordance with the various Capital projects. This pre-qualification will apply to projects with construction budgets estimated between $20,000 and $23,000,000, as may be approved and tendered by the DSBN up to April 30, 2026. General Contractors will be pre-qualified under six (6) different categories based on project value: Category A - projects between $20,000 to $50,000 - Prequalified firms are unreleased for publication. Category B - projects between $50,001 to $250,000 - Prequalified firms are unreleased for publication. Category C - projects between $250,001 to $2,000,000 - Prequalified firms are unreleased for publication. Category D - projects between $2,000,001 to $7,500,000 - Prequalified firms are unreleased for publication. Category E - projects between $7,500,001 to $15,000,000 The prequalified firms are as follows: Aquicon Construction; Bromac Construction; Brouwer Construction; Collaborative Structure Ltd; DeFaveri Construction; Duomax Developments; Garritano Bros Ltd; Merit Contractors Niagara Ltd; Pre-Eng Contracting Ltd; Tambro Construction Ltd; TR Hinan Contractors Inc; TRP Construction (1014542 Ontario Ltd). Category F - projects between $15,000,001 to $23,000,000 The prequalified firms are as follows: Aquicon Construction; Brouwer Construction Collaborative Structure Ltd; DeFaveri Construction; Garritano Bros Ltd; Merit Contractors Niagara Ltd; Pre-Eng Contracting Ltd; Tambro Construction Ltd; TRP Construction (1014542 Ontario Ltd). The DSBN shall pre-qualify General Contractors for either or all categories based on the Contractor's relevant experience and their references provided. The following are representative of the services which may be required: Renovations Additions New Schools Accessibility Upgrades Bonding will be required on all Category D, E and F projects, and may be required on Category C projects, as determined by the specific Scope of Work for each project. In all cases, specific Bonding requirements will be identified in any subsequent Tender Document(s) for the projects identified herein. The projects will generally utilize Stipulated Sum CCDC2 contracts with standard DSBN supplementary conditions, however Category A, B, or C projects may utilize a simplified DSBN contract with less rigorous bonding requirements. The DSBN reserves the right to bypass this pre-qualified list and tender projects to different sets of contractors based on projects that have specific specialized requirements, or different contractual terms, or values. All work shall be performed according to the standards of the applicable trades and to the complete satisfaction of the DSBN. The bidder is required to verify prior to pricing projects that all specified items will be available in time for installation to ensure orderly and timely progress of the work. The DSBN Facility Representative shall approve the use of any materials other than those specified by the DSBN. The Contractor may present alternatives and options to the DSBN for approval. In some cases, the DSBN may supply the materials to be used by the Contractor and in these circumstances no markup shall apply to these materials. The Contractor may be required from time to time to provide a quote for work required which may not result in the work being awarded. The Contractor shall not invoice the DSBN for this service.
