Sealed Proposals will be received by the Chartiers Valley District Flood Control Authority for: Contract A Clearing - The clearing of trees, brush, and debris along the banks and bottom of Chartiers Creek from approximately Station 479+00 to Station 577+00 in Scott Township, Heidelberg Borough, and Collier Township. The estimated quantity of work to be complete is 16.08 acres. Limits are approximately from the Hammond Street Bridge to the intersection of Green Tree Road. Contract B Clearing - The clearing of trees, brush, and debris along the banks and bottom of Chartiers Creek from approximately Station 577+00 to 609+00 in Scott Township and Collier Township. The estimated quantity of work to be complete is 6.33 acres. Limits are approximately from the intersection Green Tree Road to the confluence of the Back Channel and Main Channel located near the intersection of Route 50 and Thoms Run Road. Contract C Clearing -The clearing of trees, brush, and debris along the banks and bottom of Chartiers Creek from approximately Station 180+00 to Station 235+00 in the City of Pittsburgh The estimated quantity of work to be complete is 7.78 acres. Limits are approximately from beginning of the flood control project to Roswell Drive. Prior to bidding the project, all contractors who desire to bid in the project must be pre-qualified by the Chartiers Valley District Flood Control Authority in accordance with the requirements that have been established. Only those contractors pre-qualified may obtain the bidding documents. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement. Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of the Chartiers Valley District Flood Control Authority in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within 15 days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. The bidder understands and agrees that bids will be permitted to be submitted for any one items or multiple items or all of the enumerated items as separate contracts; further the Flood Authority in its sole and absolute discretion has the right to award separate contracts for any one item bid or to award combined contracts for multiple items to a bidder while reserving the right to reject any or all bid proposals, whatever may appear to be in the best interests of the Flood Authority and according to law. No bid will be accepted from any contractor who is not pre-qualified. The Proposals must be made to the Charters Valley District Flood Control Authority, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and shall remain firm for a period of one hundred eighty (180) days. No Bidder may withdraw his Proposal during the one hundred eighty (180) day period without forfeiting his bid guarantee. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
