As of April 18, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established. Project Location -County Bridge 216 7 South Hill Rd. Grahamsville, NY 12740 41.8407, -74.5405 , County Bridge 272 246 Denman Rd.Liberty, NY 12754 41.7601, -74.7019 It is intended to receive sealed bids for Pile Driving Installation for 2 County Bridges, County Bridge 216 on County Route 156, South Hill Rd. over Red Brook in the Town of Neversink and County Bridge 272 on Town Highway 21, Denman Rd., in the Town of Liberty, Sullivan County. 1. The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to: A. Procure, fabricate and install templates to aid in layout of steel H-pile. B. At County Bridge 216 drive sixteen (16) HP12x63 A572 Grade 50 abutment piles to a minimum embedment depth of twenty-five feet (25') each or further as ordered by the County Engineer should the required load capacity not be achieved as shown on the contract plans. The contractor shall furnish the piles with pile shoes attached to each pile. Splices will not be allowed due to the short estimated length. The contractor shall cut each pile to the cut-off elevation shown on the plans. Dynamic pile testing shall be performed on one (1) H-pile in each abutment to determine load capacity and driving criteria. C. At County Bridge 272, drive twelve (12) HP12x63 A572 Grade 50 abutment piles to a minimum embedment depth of twenty feet (20') each or further as ordered by the County Engineer should the required load capacity not be achieved as shown on the contract plans. The contractor shall furnish the piles with pile shoes attached to each pile. Splices will not be allowed due to the short estimated length. The contractor shall cut each pile to the cut-off elevation shown on the plans. Dynamic pile testing shall be performed on no less than one (1) H-pile in each abutment to determine load capacity and driving criteria. D. The unit bid price for this work shall include the cost of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete this work, including piles and shoes, driving equipment, dismantle and removal of pile driving equipment upon completion. One (1) lump sum Mobilization item for each location shall be in the contract, only one (1) Furnishing Equipment for Driving Piles will be in the contract, although there are two (2) separate sites where pile driving will take place. E. All bidders are recommended to inspect the project sites prior to bidding to become acquainted with the locations and conditions under which the work will be accomplished. If prior arrangements are made, County staff will be available to be on-site on Tuesday, March 13, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at County Bridge 216 then proceed to County Bridge 272. (See Location Map on page 4). Contact Roman DiCio at 845-807-0281 to confirm. F. Sullivan County shall provide Dynamic Pile Testing by an independent consultant. G. Sullivan County shall provide Survey Layout and Control for each location an H-pile shall be driven by the Contractor. H. Sullivan County shall obtain all NYSDEC permits and provide erosion control measures. I. Sullivan County shall excavate to the bottom of the proposed concrete stem at each site. J. Sullivan County shall coordinate relocation of overhead utilities. 2. The Bidder is advised to visit the sites and study the soil boring logs to become acquainted with the location and conditions under which the work will be done (See Location Map). Contract limits extend 150 ft. in both directions from center of each existing bridge along existing road centerline(s). Each road will be closed to traffic and will utilize an off-site detour. A. Bidder shall be responsible for the use of pile driving equipment of the appropriate driving force for HPile driving to proceed past any obstructions encountered. Said hammer shall not be less than 19,500 ft-lb driving force. No additional cost will be allowed for the use of a larger equipment
