Renovation of an educational facility in Hampton, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Qualified bidders may submit construction bids for project as described in this Document. Submit bids according to the Instructions to Bidders (002113) and Supplementary Instructions to Bidders (002213). Project Description: 1. The project scope of work includes decommissioning of existing unit ventilators and installing new packaged vertical unit ventilators in existing classroom spaces. Units will be located within the classrooms and new ductwork to distribute conditioned air will be located below existing roof structure and routed as described in the plans. New units are to be provided with heating water from existing piping located in mechanical tunnels below the classrooms or from existing piping above ceilings. Installation of a new building automation system with any wiring or electrical connections requiring installation, relocation, or removal based on classroom scope are to be completed. Contractor shall provide pricing for an alternate to remove existing unit ventilators, infill existing louver openings, and provide new casework and countertops. 2. Additional scope includes the removal and re-installation of existing ceilings, installation of new casework, construction of new louver openings and lintels in existing exterior wall assemblies, and other related demolition and patching activities. Other work to be completed is described by the construction documents. 3. The owner has pre-ordered the packaged vertical unit ventilators to be installed by the mechanical contractor under this project. The units are under production and will be warehoused by the manufacturer until such time as they may be installed. The contractor is to include costs for the units and their temporary storage as unit-cost allowances. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in an amount not less than five percent ( 5% ) of the bid amount. Bid security shall be in a separate envelope in the form of a bid bond, a certified check, or a cashier's check payable to Hampton-Dumont Community School District. If a bid bond is used for security, it must be signed by both the bidder and the surety (or surety's agent supported by accompanying Power of Attorney). Such bid security shall be retained by the District as liquidated damages in the case the successful bidder shall fail or refuse to enter into a contract for the construction of the work, furnish the required bonds, and/or meet the requirements of this Notice and the specifications regulating the award. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 calendar days following the date of the opening of bids. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids, re-advertise for new bids, and to waive informalities and irregularities in the bids submitted. Bidders must be properly licensed under the laws governing their respective trades and be able to obtain insurance and bonds required for the work. The Contractor is required to comply with wage and labor provisions of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts and to pay minimum wages in accordance with the current schedule of wage rates established by the United States Department of Labor. A Public Hearing will be conducted on the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimate of cost for the construction of the above-described project at 5:00 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 in the District Boardroom, located at 601 12th Avenue NE - Hampton, Iowa. A. The contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is in conformance to the Bidding Documents prepared by Emergent Architecture. Bids may be held by the District for a period not to exceed sixty ( 60 ) days from the date of the opening to review the bids and investigate the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract. Once approved, a Notice to Proceed will be issued to notify the bidder of the contract award. B. By statutory authority, a preference shall be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State Bidders' Questions: Architect will provide responses to bidders' questions by addendum if received by March 13, 2023.
