The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is embarking on a program to upgrade and refurbish existing Radio Repeater Sites and provide new installations to additional Radio Repeater Sites in remote locations throughout the province of British Columbia. The Natural Resource Information and Digital Services division manages this process provincially. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to qualify suppliers who are experienced in providing Radio Repeater Site civil work, including repair, maintenance, erection, and installation, and rigging of radio repeater Towers including associated antennas, supports and solar structures. Contractors will provide Radio Repeater Site civil work including, but not limited to:
1. Installation, replacement or repair of existing Towers, including specified foundations;
2. Replacement and or repair of antenna support structures and or solar panel support structures, antenna cables, power cables, grounding systems;
3. Installation of new Towers, including specified foundations;
4. Installation of new antenna support structures and or solar panel support structures, antenna cables, power cables, and grounding systems;
5. Installation, replacement or repair of rock bolts or anchor supports and reinforced concrete foundation structures;
6. Drilling up to 2 diameter rock anchor holes to a depth of up to 4 metres;
7. Testing of rock anchor strength;
8. Upgrade or replacement of grounding systems as specified by the Ministry;
9. Directing helicopters assisting in provision of the services if so required;
10. Removal of any structures, equipment and components no longer required;
11. Site remediation;
12. Other site civil work, such as minor construction of helipad, as specified by the Ministry as necessary; and
13. Adhering to the specifications as set by the Ministry and/or the Ministrys geotechnical engineer for site installations or modifications. Documents can be obtained from https://new.bcbid.gov.bc.ca/
