Renovation of a municipal facility in Oakland, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Contractor shall furnish all expertise, labor, materials, parts, equipment, and incidentals necessary to deliver a complete security improvement Project at the Lakeside Plaza Building ("Building"), located at 1401 Lakeside Drive, Oakland, California. The intent of the Project is to provide access control in all common areas of the Building. The common areas include a main street level entry lobby ("Lobby"), three (3) stairwells, a parking garage, and four (4) elevators. The Project will enhance the existing security systems by providing an independent security system infrastructure, and to have the capacity to expand the security system for future requests. (Refer to Exhibit A1 - System layout). The existing system pathways can only to be used upon approval from County representative. The Project will provide a temporary access card ("Visitor") system and also includes removal and replacement of the Lobby floor and replacement of the Lobby main entry doors. The Building is approximately 141,000 square feet, has 12 stories of office space, two sub-street level parking structures ("P1" and "P2"), and consists of the following: a. A 932 square foot Lobby with four (4) elevators, one (1) stairwell, two (2) storefront style double French doors, and a side door (side door not a part of this scope). b. Three (3) emergency stairwells: i. Stairwell #1 is the main and longest stairwell adjacent to the elevators. Stairwell #1 runs from the penthouse to the parking garage P2. ii. Stairwell #2 runs from the penthouse to the second floor. iii. Stairwell #3 runs from second floor to parking garage P2. iv. Refer to Exhibit A1 - System layout. c. Four (4) elevators: i. Elevators #'s 1, 2, 3 run from the Lobby to the 12th floor ii. Elevator #4 running from the Lobby to parking garage level P2. d. A two (2) level parking garage containing: i. Two (2) stairwells (#1 and #3 above). ii. A powered roll up gate, which currently has a card reader activated access control system. e. 2nd floor patio with two doors. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing, including by e-mail, to County Contract Duration 365 Days The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any irregularity in any bid received . To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess the following State of California Contractor Licenses: [B -General Contractor] Contract Documents Available March 6, 2023 Estimated Date of Notice of Intent to Award April 17, 2023 The budgetary estimate for the scope of work is approximately $700,290. A bid bond by an admitted surety insurer on the form provided by the County, cash, or a cashier's check or a certified check, drawn to the order of the County of Alameda, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price, shall accompany the Bid Form, as a guarantee that the Bidder will, within seven (7) calendar days after the date of the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the County for the performance of the services as stipulated in the bid.The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Work.
