Reference Number 0000312756 The City of Gunnison (City) is seeking bids from qualified, experienced firms and/or individuals to provide repair and paint services for the City of Gunnison Municipal Building, located at 201 W Virginia Avenue in Gunnison, Colorado . Question Acceptance Deadline 03/28/2023 04:00 PM EDT - Performance Bond 50 % - Payment Bond 50 % The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, to waive any formalities or informalities and further, to award the services to the most responsive and responsible Bidder, according to the Citys evaluation and as deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The work generally includes: repair/fill cracks; remove old caulking from control joints and refill with appropriate backer rod; removal of damaged, bubbled, and loose paint; inspect, remove and replace old caulking around all windows and doors where needed, sand and re-stain two exterior doors; masking of all appropriate areas to fully protect all surfaces, persons and adjacent areas from overspray; painting with paint and primer as listed in the specifications The Municipal Building is an approximately 10,000 square foot, two-story building that is 90 years old. 1. This project is to repaint the precast concrete exterior walls on the Municipal Building located at 201 W Virginia Ave in Gunnison, Colorado. This project generally involves all work necessary to provide repairs and exterior painting of the entire building. 2. The work generally includes: repair/fill cracks; remove old caulking from control joints and refill with appropriate backer rod; removal of damaged, bubbled, and loose paint; inspect, remove and replace old caulking around all windows and doors where needed, sand and re-stain two exterior doors; masking of all appropriate areas to fully protect all surfaces, persons and adjacent areas from overspray; painting with paint and primer as listed in the specifications. 3. Work must be complete by September 29, 2023. 1. The Bidder shall provide all labor and materials for this building repaint and minor maintenance project. 2. The Bidder shall utilize industry accepted methods to complete all work properly in conjunction with descriptions contained in the Scope of Work to ensure that all operations are completed successfully. 3. The Bidder shall adequately prepare all surfaces, fix imperfections, remove damaged paint (loose, bubbled etc.), patch holes and cracks in cement walls, power wash walls prior to painting, and sand where necessary, including but not limited to window frames and exterior door frames. All prep work shall be inspected by City Facilities Manager prior to application of finishes. 4. The Bidder shall inspect the caulking around all windows and doors and shall remove and replace as necessary using the gentlest methods as possible 5. The Bidder shall remove old caulking from control joints and refill with appropriate size backer rod and silicone. Color shall match existing. 6. Bidder shall apply compatible paint coating systems to historically-painted building following proper surface preparation. 7. The Bidder shall apply an Elastomeric exterior paint as approved by the City of Gunnison. Color shall match existing. 8. The Bidder shall ensure that all appropriate measures are taken to fully protect all surfaces, persons and adjacent areas before, during and after the work from paint overspray and all other damage, including, but not limited to: sidewalks, millwork, hardware, persons, vehicles, windows, doors, property that are in, near or within the sphere that could be affected by the work; weather elements, such as sun, wind, rain, humidity and other outside forces. 9. Bidder shall post all appropriate signs and barricades where applicable prior to any work being performed. 10. The Bidder shall provide any necessary lifts and/or cranes. 11. The Bidder shall be responsible for supplying dumpsters; removal and disposal of all trash and waste; and cleanup of working area at the end of each workday. Bidder shall assure that work is not done, nor equipment parked, in areas outside the work area boundaries. The Bidder shall clean areas wherein equipment is placed and shall leave these areas in a condition acceptable to the City.
