This work shall include but not limited to furnishing all labor, equipment and materials necessary for installation of new 6-inch/8-inch/12-inch polyvinyl chloride pipe, wax tape of ductile iron flanges, tape wrap and polyethylene wrapped ductile iron fittings, couplings, thrust blocks, valve anchors; installation of 6-inch/8-inch/12-inch gate valves; installation of 1-inch/2-inch water services, fire services and air relief valve assemblies; installation of fire hydrant assemblies; installation of 2-inch blow-off assemblies; connections to existing water mains; relocation of existing sewer laterals; abandonment of existing water main, services, valves and fire hydrant laterals; removal and disposal of existing fire hydrant head and bury; highline of water mains; hot tapping of existing water main; appurtenant items such as traffic control, pavement removal and replacement, excavation, backfill and compaction, pressure testing and disinfection, and all other work necessary to complete this project complete in place. This Work is covered by a Citywide Project Labor Agreement (PLA) entered into by the Long Beach Water Department with the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council and the signatory Craft Unions. The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class A General Engineering Contractor license at the time the Contract is awarded. Failure to possess the specified license may render the Bid as non-responsive. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in a bid, and to make award to the lowest responsible bidder as it may best serve the interest of the Owner. Engineer's Estimate is $2,600,000.
