The work shall consist of the provision of all permits, materials, labor and equipment to perform the complete work as identified in the Scope of Work for this bid. Contractor will be responsible for following all items addressed in the Scope of Work, specifications, and all applicable laws, codes, regulations and any manufacturer's recommendations. Install smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Update two units for hearing impaired families The Housing Authority of the County of San Bernardino is seeking qualified licensed contractor(s) to provide and install Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in all residential units at the Los Olivos Affordable Housing Developments in the city of Upland. The project includes wiring and installing smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms in each of the 99 residential units on within this community. Two units will be selected to receive hearing impaired alarms and doorbells. Units will be occupied for the duration of the work. The estimated project cost is $64,988. The main objective of this project is to improve the resident safety, installing hardwired smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in each resident. Install hearing impaired alarms and doorbells in two units. This project has two main objectives: 2.1.1 INCREASED RESIDENT SAFETY Replace all smoke and carbon detectors with interconnected alarms. 2.1.2 REDUCTION IN MAINTENANCE COSTS Alarms to contain a ten-year backup battery, eliminating the need to replace the disposal battery in each device annually. 2.2 PROJECT SCOPE Contractor will install smoke alarms in each bedroom, a carbon monoxide/smoke alarm in each hall. All devices in each unit will be interconnected. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, debris-waste removal/disposal, transportation of materials necessary to replace all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Contractor will install a dedicated circuit breaker and hard wire interconnected smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in each residential unit to meet California fire code. Expect all residential spaces to be occupied during the construction. Two unit shall have hearing impaired devices installed, including smoke, and carbon monoxide alarms and doorbell system. 4.1 INSTALL ALARMS Wire the interior of the unit for all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (per NFPA 72) All alarms to be interconnected All wires to be enclosed in conduit 4.2 HARDWIRE SMOKE ALARMS AND CARBON MONIXIDE DETECTORS Smoke alarms to be install in each bedroom and hallway Carbon monoxide detector to be installed in each hallway 4.3 TWO UNITS TO BE MODIFIDED FOR HEARING IMPAIRED 1 - One-bedroom unit 1 - Two-bedroom unit All alarms to include strobe lights Install hearing impaired doorbell system per 2019 ADA standards 11B-809.5.5.1 4.4 WORK SITE CLEANING Work area shall be cleaned completely interior and exterior. Floors shall be swept, and dust mopped.
