Reference Number: 0000313177 The Town of New Castle is seeking bids for the purchase and installation of replacement roof at the Chappaqua Performing Arts Center. This inludes removing all old roofing - which consists of transite cement shingles, asphalt shingles, Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) and underlayment materials to expose the underlying wooded decks. The transite cement shingles, tar paper under the shingles, and asphalt cement (tar) applied on the vent pipe flashings contain asbestos, and they shall be removed and disposed of in accordance with NYS Code Rule 56 requirements, and this specification. A pipe scaffold and plank covered platforms shall be installed at the eaves of the transite shingle sections of roof - to facilitate safe removal of the asbestos containing materials. Roof brackets and planks may be used elsewhere at the contractor's option. Wood deck repairs if any are needed shall be performed on a Unit Price basis. New built-in copper flashings shall be installed in the change in elevation brick masonry walls, and new aluminum flashing and drip edges shall be installed at all roof eaves and perimeters. The existing aluminum gutters and downspouts shall be replaced with new white aluminum gutters and downspouts; new gutters are not required where none presently exist.
