Overview: The objective of this project is to complete final design and permitting of dredging previously investigated in the Preliminary Dredging Design, Newton Park, Lake Apopka at Winter Garden, Florida (2013) and the Site Placement Area Alternative Analysis and Recommendation (2018), Exhibit A, both prepared by Taylor Engineering, Inc. Other tasks will include: 1) evaluation of dredge material characteristics, along with risks to wildlife at proposed placement site(s), and 2) evaluation of the placement site and method proposed in the 2018 conceptual design, and 3) evaluation of alternative local methods of handling and dewatering of dredged material. The successful Respondent shall work closely with the District to incorporate site-specific placement constraints associated with the project.
