Questions received after this date and time may not be answered. 2023-03-20 4:00:00 PM Summary Details The proposed contract consists of free growing and regeneration plot surveys across the BCTS Okanagan-Columbia North Zone operating area, specifically in the Cooke, Currie, Echo, Hunter Brash, Ireland, Kal Slope, Kwikoit, and TSA Okanagan operating areas. Surveys are to be completed as per the current Silviculture Survey Procedures Manual. As such, dispersed retention data will also be collected during even aged free growing surveys and basal area included on the survey report. There are approximately 799 plot surveys over 793.2ha. See the Schedule A for specific works required. Questions & Answers All contract related questions must be submitted in writing ONLY to the following email address: Forests.OkanaganColumbiaTimberSalesOffice@gov.bc.ca. Deadline for receiving questions is 4:00pm on March 20, 2023. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by March 22, 2023. Tender submissions must be submitted in accordance with the terms and conditions specified in the tender package. The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia portal. More information on SFI available at www.forests.org. As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel. Unverified bid results will be posted to BC Bid after tender opening and once awarded the contract award results will be available on BC Bid. The method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this time.
