As of May 17, 2023, project was awarded to ELQ Industries, Inc., awarded amount is $3,687,776.42. The work includes providing all labor, materials, machinery, tools, equipment, and other means of construction necessary and incidental to the completion of the work shown on the plans and described in these specifications including, but not necessarily limited to the following: Replacement of the existing bridge carrying Waverly Avenue over the Sheldrake River. The new bridge will have sidewalks on both sides carrying pedestrian traffic safely over the river. The new bridge will incorporate recommendations specified in a 2016 US Army Corps of Engineers flood risk management study. Specifically, the bridge will be replaced with a wider structure and deeper foundations that will complement the Army Corps of Engineer's plans to widen the channel to mitigate flooding. Successful bidders will be required to pay prevailing wage rates on this contract Upon execution of the Contract including delivery of the Performance Bond, Labor and Materials Payment Bond, and insurance policies and certificates by the Contractor to the Owner and the approval thereof by the Owner's attorney, a preconstruction meeting will be held, which must include the NYSDOT Local Projects Unit Construction Liaison. If given the approval by DOT after the preconstruction meeting, the Contractor will be notified to proceed with the work. Such notification will be in the form of a letter to proceed from the Owner. The work will be substantially completed 300 calendar days from Notice to Proceed and completed and ready for final payment on 6/1/2024. The Town of Mamaroneck reserves the right to consider the bids for forty-five (45) days after receipt before awarding any Contract, and to waive any minor informalities in, and to reject, any and all bids. All bids are subject to final review and approval by the Town of Mamaroneck Town Board before any award of contract may be made.
