It is the intent of Montgomery County to secure pricing and availability for Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (Materials Only) and Related Supplies to be utilized by Various Montgomery County Departments. All structural steel members shall be designed for those sections of the following listed codes as considered applicable, by the building manufacturer, as related to design requirements and allowable stress: American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) "Specification for the Design, Fabrication and Erection of Structural Steel for Buildings"; American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) "Specification for the Design, Fabrication and Erection of Cold-Formed Structural Members for Buildings"; Metal Buildings Manufacturers Association (MBMA) "Recommended Design Practices Manual"; and American Welding Society (AWS), D1.1 "Structural Welding Code". The building shall include all primary and secondary structural framing members, connection bolts, covering, skylights, windows, doors, flashing, fasteners, closures, sealer, and other miscellaneous items as required when the building order is placed. Materials for the pre-engineered metal buildings shall be new and free from defect and shall be delivered by the awarded vendor.
