DESCRIPTION OF WORK: All work for the Project shall be constructed in accordance with the Specifications prepared by the Owner. Bids shall be submitted for demolition, disposal, furnishing, delivering and installing all materials, equipment and services, including labor for the Work, needed for completion of the project: This roadway rehabilitation project consists of approximately 0.22 miles of existing asphalt paved roadway, maintained by the City of Inverness (White Lake Drive). The project includes but is not limited to the following o Reclamation and Replacement of existing roadway. o Milling and resurfacing of existing roadway. o Placement and maintenance of BMPs. o FDOT permits for partial lane closure, if necessary. o Grading and shaping of road shoulder. o Establishment of ground cover over disturbed areas. o Maintenance of Traffic during construction. CONTRACT TIME: Construction time to achieve Substantial Completion is 90 consecutive calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed, with an additional 30 consecutive calendar days to achieve Final Completion (120 days total). BID SECURITY: A 5% bid security will be required for this project, if contract price exceeds $100,000. PERFORMANCE AND PAYMENT BOND: The Owner will require that the Contractor furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract Price, if it exceeds $100,000. All Payment and Performance Bonds shall be secured from or countersigned by an agency or surety company recognized in good standing and authorized to do business in the State of Florida. The City of Inverness reserves the right to waive formalities, waive any technical defects, reject any and all bids, and accept any bid which represents the lowest and best offer to the City.
