Gravel Crushing Operations 2023 The Sannachan Pit (N.W. 12-41-6-W4M) Up to 25,000 metric tonnes - 3/4 " crushed The work to be undertaken generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to: gravel crushing operations (the "Work") as set out on the specifications attached hereto as Schedule "A". The Successful Bidder shall commence as early as possible after the tender has been awarded and achieve substantial performance of the Work for the Project by June 15th, 2023. The Successful Bidder will provide notice to the MD at least 72 hours, notice prior to the commencement of crushing operations. All written inquiries regarding the technical aspects of the specifications for the Work shall be faxed to MD of Provost No. 52, Attention: Tyler Lawrason however the bidder(s) acknowledge and agree that the MD does not have an obligation to provide a response to any written inquiry and that it is in the sole and unfettered discretion of the MD to provide any written response to a written inquiry. Telephone inquiries and email inquiries will not be replied to. Submission of a tender by a Bidder gives the MD the right to require the Bidder to execute the contract to perform the Work as set out within the tender documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn after the Tender Closing and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the MD for a period of sixty (60) days following the end of the day of the Tender Closing. The Successful Bidder will be notified in writing of the award of the Tender when the MD delivers a letter of intent to the Successful Bidder CRUSHING SPECIFICATIONS 1. Materials a) Only materials suitable for the production of gravel will be accepted. The use of organic materials will not be tolerated. b) The Successful Bidder will provide a site of sufficient size to allow for required crushing operations. 2. Crushed Gravel All gravel produced must meet the following specifications: Percent Passing Percent Passing METRIC SIEVE SIZE Modified 4:20 Spec. Fines Elimination Elimination shall be bid according to a sliding scale relating to percentage of elimination. 4. Moisture Content The Successful Bidder will ensure that all material produced meets the specifications as set out in Section "A- 2". 5. Testing All material will be sampled and tested by the Municipal staff while production is taking place. Should the Successful Bidder dispute the results of these tests, an engineering company will be secured to re-test the samples. In the event that the second set of results are close to, or the same as, those reached by the Municipality then the Successful Bidder will be responsible for all costs incurred in securing the engineering company's services. The Successful Bidder agrees that the Municipality will only be responsible for paying and taking delivery of crushed gravel that meets the Municipality's standards and specifications. B. STOCKPILE OPERATIONS The Successful Bidder shall deposit all crushed material in the pits as specified in this contract. C. CALCULATIONS OF QUANTITIES The Successful Bidder shall use a scale to weigh quantities. 1 cubic yard = 1.2727 tonne D. EXTRACTION OF RAW PRODUCT The successful bidder will use an excavator in the extraction of pit run to ensure the proper and complete extraction of all viable material. The successful bidder will use an excavator with a mounted jack hammer to utilize all rock for the crush. Reference Number: AB-2023-02106
