The City of Farmers Branch (“City”) seeks proposals from qualified transportation planning consultants (Proposers) to assist with the development of an Active Transportation Plan (the Plan). The Active Transportation Plan will identify specific, actionable projects that the City can undertake in the next five years that will make Famers Branch a more walkable and bikeable City. The Plan will provide a framework that allows for safe, convenient travel for people of all ages and abilities. The successful Proposer will provide a strategy for the development of an Active Transportation Plan. Ultimately the Plan will provide a framework for the City to plan and design its infrastructure in a way that increases mobility outside of the use of a vehicle. The Plan will identify projects that can be undertaken in the next five years that align with the City’s Comprehensive Plan and sustainability goals. The City has the following objectives for the Active Transportation Plan. 1. Identify the active transportation network for people who walk, bicycle, and/or use transit 2. Identify gaps in infrastructure that could significantly improve the safety and user experience of pedestrians and cyclists 3. Provide an updated conceptual trail network 4. Provide a five (5) year plan of actionable projects based on expected and historical funding 5. Develop an implementation and funding plan for prioritized projects 6. Recommend policies and performance targets Notification to Vendors of proposal rankings Thursday, April 20, 2023 City Council Award of Contract TBD The deadline for questions submitted by Proposers is 2:00 p.m. CDT on Friday, March 24, 2023. The City will accept no questions after this date and time. Questions must be submitted in writing; the question, written City response, and addenda, if any, related to the RFP will be distributed to all Proposers. If the City determines a question has been sufficiently answered in the RFP, the inquiring Proposer will be referred to the relevant section of the RFP.
