Renovation of a water / sewer project in Roslyn, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The purpose of the project is to install interim GAC treatment installed in a foundation at Plant No. 5. The work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Tree removal, site clearing, grubbing, sheeting, bracing, excavation, soil erosion protection, slope protection, earth movement, subgrade preparation, removal of excess and/or unsuitable excavated material, dewatering, and import of suitable material, as necessary to install and construct all the work defined within the Contract Documents. 2. Furnish and supply temporary sanitary facilities for all contracts. 3. Demolition and removals as shown. 4. Preliminary site work including: utility mark-out, erection of safety fencing, erosion control facilities, clearing and grubbing. 5. New site drainage structures. 6. Excavation, removal of excess and/or unsuitable excavated material, sheeting reinforcement, import of suitable material, soil compaction and testing. 7. Construction of new building foundation, including: all concrete footings/foundations, concrete reinforcement, penetrations, structural steel, grating, stairs, etc. 8. New penetration sleeves. 9. New interior large mechanical piping, valves, and accessories. 10. New buried site piping, valves, and accessories. 11. New GAC treatment system. 12. Surface preparation and coating of mechanical piping. 13. Testing and adjusting of mechanical systems. 14. Disinfection and water quality testing. 15. Startup participation for the various equipment and systems of the project. Provide complete services to troubleshoot and assist manufacturer service representatives in obtaining a completely functional installation. Provide systems and equipment training for Owner personnel. 16. Site restoration including final grading and placement of topsoil and seeding. 17. Project closeout submittals. Any bidder requiring documents to be shipped shall make arrangements with the printer and pay for all packaging and shipping costs. As a convenience to the Contractor, Digital Bidding Documents may be obtained from the electronically as an online download for a non-refundable fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), paid by credit card. All bidders are urged to register to ensure receipt of all necessary information, including bid addenda. All bid addenda will be transmitted to registered plan holders via email and will be available Electronically. Plan holders who have paid for hard copies of the bid documents will need to make the determination if hard copies of the addenda are required for their use, and coordinate directly with REV for hard copies of addenda to be issued. There will be no charge for registered plan holders to obtain hard copies of the bid addenda. Each proposal submitted must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond, made payable to the Roslyn Water District, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a commitment by the bidder that, if its bid is accepted, it will enter into a contract to perform the work and will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The attention of Bidders is called to the fact that the project is a labor and materials project and bidders should not include, in their bid, sales and compensating use taxes on the cost of materials which are to be incorporated into the project and which are to be separately sold by the Bidder to the District prior to incorporation into the project. The Bidder whose bid has been accepted will be required to appear at the office of the Attorney for the District with a properly executed Surety Company Bond, insurance coverage, and execute the contract within ten (10) days from the date of the service of a notice, delivered to him in person or mailed to the address given in the bid, that the contract has been awarded to him. In case of failure to execute the bond and the contract within the time stated, the Bidder shall be deemed to have abandoned the contract and the amount of the deposit made by the Bidder will be forfeited to and retained by the District as liquidated damages. The Board will determine the lowest responsible Bidder or Bidders whose bid and check shall have been made and filed in conformity herewith. No bid shall be withdrawn pending the decision of the Board. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any informalities and to accept such bid which, in the opinion of the Owner, is in the best interests of the Owner.
