The project is located in Sussex and generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to, preparing the site and erection of bridge components over the river. Construction activities include pile foundation and pile caps, bridge abutments, supply of crane and erection of bridge on new foundations. A Bid Bond OR Certified Cheque, payable to the Town of Sussex, in the amount of 10% of the Total Amount Payable, must also accompany each Tender. Each tender shall be accompanied by Tender Security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Total Amount Payable in evidence of the bona fide nature of the tender. The Town of Sussex reserves the right to reject any and all tenders and also reserves the right to not necessarily accept the lowest Tender. The Contractor shall, prior to commencement of the Work, provide to the Owner a Performance Bond and a Labour and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 50% of the Total Amount Payable or an Irrevocable Letter of Credit in the amount of 20% of the Total Amount Payable. The Irrevocable Letter of Credit shall be issued by a certified financial institution for a period of no less than twelve (12) months after the issue of Substantial Performance Certificate. Include the cost of providing the Irrevocable Letter of Credit in Contract Price.
