SCOPE OF WORK Schoharie County utilizes ESRI's ArcMap GIS and wants to maintain, improve, and expand GIS capabilities. The County has a repository of GIS data layers available to users, such as address location, parcels, roads, towns, railroads, dams, water bodies, flood models, FEMA Flood data (FIRM), Emergency Service Zones, and some special districts. This GIS data is associated with and used by several programs that end users access on various levels. Current end users understand how to utilize the information given to them, but no further technical ability. Retaining qualified GIS employees is a challenge, but the County continues to advertise for GIS positions. The main GIS work is through the County Real Property Tax Office (RPTO) in Schoharie, NY. The consultant will need to travel to other areas of the County as necessary, especially Howes Cave, NY. The RPTO will continue to be the "base of operations" for County GIS. Other key departments that rely on accurate GIS data and are involved in GIS services include the following: - Information Technology - Schoharie, NY - Sheriff - Howes Cave, NY - Public Works - Schoharie, NY - Planning and Community Development - Schoharie, NY - Emergency Services - Howes Cave, NY - Elections - Schoharie, NY Prospective Consultants shall submit one (1) set of hard copy materials and in an electronic format, submitted e-mail or downloadable link.
