Renovation of a municipal facility in Chester, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Mens Restroom Demolish interior walls and install interioror 5/8 sheetrock on all interior walls screwed and taped joints, with a waterproof wall surface that is washable that is stain resistance. Remove paneling, ceiling tile and ceiling grid system install new ceiling grid seismic approved. Install waterproof flooring at entrance way to the Mens restroom. Remove peel stick down floor tile and replace with and impervious washable surface that is a waterproof flooring. Remove wooden toilet enclosure and install ADA approved compartment with grab bars, toilet dispenser and closure door. Install courtesy wall mirrors at approved ADA minimum heights. Remove existing current ADA water closet and reuse. Remove non-compliant wall urinal, install two new wall mount ADA approved urinals. Remove current non-compliant sink and install new double ADA approved lavatories. Install self-closure positive latching entrance door with Braille door identification. Install or adjust electrical lighting and HVAC vents to meet new floor layout. Womens Restroom Modify front entry door to provide privacy enclosure with positive latch closure of the door. Removed vinyl floor tile and install waterproof non-slip resistant floor tile. Install non-stainable pervious washable wall surface to prevent wall staining. Adjust staggered wall to install additional ADA approved women water closets with handicap grab bars, toilet paper dispenser, with enclosure compartments and privacy doors. Install ADA approved double lavatory sink vanity with curtsey vanity mirror(s). Install additional LED lighting equally spaced. The awarded contractor is responsible for acquiring all necessary building permits, proper bonding and a City Business License is required by the contractor who will be doing City Hall First Floor ADA Upgrades Mens & Womens Restrooms. A bid bond is required for all contracts that exceed $100,000. The City reserves the rights to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part and to award a contract that is in the best interest of the City. The Bid Form may be requested by contacting Reggie McBeth, City of Chester Public Works Director at rmcbeth@chester.sc.gov. Other qualification or bid requirements include: Bidder must also make positive effort to use small and minority -owned business and to offer employment, training, and contracting opportunities in accordance with Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Any prospective bidder, offeror, contractor, or subcontractor who is aggrieved in connection with the solicitation of this contract may protest to the City in accordance with Section 11-35-4210 of the SC Code of l1-35-4210 of the SC Code of Laws 15 days of the date of issuance of the Notice of Intent to Award. The City of Chester requests that all bidders respond with an actual bid or with a written No Bid. This provision guards against receiving an insufficient response to the Advertisement of Bids. The owner reserves the right to waive any irregularities, or to reject any or all bids. The City of Chester encourages participation by women, minority, disadvantaged and Section 3 businesses. Bid submittals from minority and women owned businesses are encouraged. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
