The proposed BC Timber Sales Silviculture Survey Contract, located within the 100 Mile Timber Supply Area, will collect data for Free Growing, Multi-layered Regeneration and Regeneration surveys. The project covers an estimated 2,472ha and consists of an estimated 1,677 plots. As well, the project includes assessment of forest health, brush competition and plantability and will provide recommendations for future site treatment options. The contract will require Qualified Professionals and accredited Silviculture Surveyors to complete the work and includes the uploading of data into BC Timber Sales LRM program. Contract deliverables will be planned for completion throughout the fiscal year to meet the business area's needs. If questions are received, a Question & Answer document will be posted to BC Bid by 4:00 pm on March 28, 2023. Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022. As a condition of finalizing any service contracts with the Province, including service contracts arising from procurement processes, those contracts will require that all contractors and their personnel and any subcontractors and their personnel who will access BC government workplaces be fully vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines approved for use in Canada, subject to any authorized exemptions. Such contracts will contain associated provisions required by and satisfactory to the Province regarding the foregoing, which may include provisions regarding mitigation measures for exempt personnel, compliance, enforcement, and the use of an attestation certifying compliance or presentation of a BC Vaccine Card by personnel.
