Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

The work, officially known as Project No. 23005, North Lakefront Bluff Stabilization and Revetment, consists of stabilizing a high shoreline bluff installation of a new near-shore revetment along the Lake Michigan shoreline, and demolition of an abandoned former pumphouse. Pre-qualifications for each type of work are required and are included in the Specifications. No in-water work shall be conducted between August 1, 2023, through September 30, 2023 as required by the State of Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources fish avoidance window. Work that is not in-water, or is on dry lakebed, may be conducted during this time period. Work is required to stabilize an approximately 80-feet tall bluff that is currently unstable, with an approximately 40-foot-tall vertical scarp at the base and consisting of both native material and legacy industrial fill including an historic ravine containing coal ash and other unknown fill. The length of bluff stabilization portion of the project is approximately 1,250 feet. The site is a brownfield site, and the bluff stabilization will also function as an environmental cap; therefor, the appropriate documentation of capping and environmental requirements regarding soil handling are required. The revetment will be installed approximately 120 to 160 feet offshore for a length of approximately 2,250 feet, in depths of water ranging from approximately 6 to 9 feet deep. A stone layer will be installed between the new revetment and the existing toe of bluff. The revetment construction will include both new installation and installation of new revetment required to interlock with existing offshore breakwaters. An existing legacy industrial pumphouse at the bottom of the bluff will be demolished and material disposed properly at a licensed landfill.
