cThe City of Haverhill, MA is seeking bids for "School Playground Site Preparations" at the Moody School in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 30, Section 39M. Scope- The work consists of soil removal and grading, gravel and loam placement, hydroseeding, asphalt walkways, and fencing. The City of Haverhill reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all bids if deemed to be in its best interest. The general scope of work is to create a playground area that, when viewed in its entirety, may be approached and entered, and provides a range of play opportunities or experiences to users of varying abilities; and to create a continuous, unobstructed pathway from the use zone perimeter to the equipment. Installation of a new perimeter fence will be budget dependent. Note: playground equipment will be installed by others. General Site Work (Base bid): The general site work includes soil removal, grading, gravel installation and compaction, and placement and grading of loam per the site plan, over the entire site, defined as everything within the fence line. b. Hydroseeding (Alt. bid 1): of the upper 1/2 of the site per plan (where the play equipment is NOT). Hydroseeding vendor to provide and install 4' tall snow fencing, or equivalent, staked every 4 feet, along the edge of the poured in place rubber and extend across the site from one chain link fence to the other. Snow fence to be securely attached to chain link on both ends. c. Walkways (Alt. bid 2): Will remove, excavate per the site plan, and install asphalt walkways. All walkways will be as drawn with the exception of the walkway leading to the double gate, which will be the clear width of the gate opening from the main walkway. d. Perimeter Fencing (Alt. bid 3): The general scope of work is to remove and dispose of the existing fencing, and install new fencing per the attached drawing. Specifications: Black Spectra Vinyl coating, or equivalent, on ALL components including 48 inches high 9 gauge chain link (sections 8 ft long), 3" gate posts and corner posts (cemented), 2 1/2 line posts; (1) 4ft x 4ft walk gate and (1) 4 ft x 10 Double gate with heavy duty lockable hardware, schedule 40 top rail, schedule 20 bottom rail.
