Winslow, ME- Chaffee Brook Pump Station Upgrades Phase 1 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing via electronic mail. The Project includes the following Work: The installation of two new 16-inch sewer force main pipelines under the Kennebec River to provide transmission of wastewater from the Chaffee Brook Pump Station at 96 Chaffee Brook Road in Winslow, Maine to the Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District (KSTD) interceptor sewer on Water Street in Waterville, Maine. DESCRIPTION: A. Location: The Work locations include, but are not limited to, locations within the right-of-ways on the following streets and easements in the Town of Winslow, Maine. 1. Water Street 2. Town of Winslow Chaffee Brook Pump Station force main easement with the Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District. B. Work Included: The Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. New Sewer Force Main: a. Duel sewer force main and fittings (two parallel 16-inch diam. HDPE pipelines, approximately 900 LF each) b. Precast concrete pipe collars (in-water portion of force main) 2. New Sanitary Sewer: a. Gravity sanitary sewer (24-inch diam. PVC sewer, 30 LF) b. Precast concrete force main terminus manhole and gravity interceptor sewer doghouse manhole (two 8-ft dia. SMHs) c. Existing flow management/ bypass pumping for installation of new sanitary sewer pipes and manholes on existing interceptor sewer. 3. Relocation of existing 12-inch water service to the Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District treatment plant. a. Sequence of construction outlined in Section 3.2.D. 4. Testing of sanitary sewers, sewer force mains, and manholes for proper installation and performance. 5. All related site work including trench excavation (in-water and on-land), ledge excavation, groundwater dewatering, disposal of excess excavated materials, filter fabric, bedding, backfill, compaction, road/drive subbase, paving, loam/seed and erosion control measures. 6. Other miscellaneous work shown in the Specifications for a complete and operational system. C. Removals, Relocations and Rearrangements 1. Examine the existing site for the work of all trades which will influence the cost of the work under the bid. This work shall include removals, relocations and rearrangements which may interfere with, disturb or complicate the performance of the work under the general bid involving systems, equipment and related service lines, which shall continue to be utilized as part of the finished project. The Contractor is responsible for all coordination in this regard. 2. Provide in the bid a sufficient amount to include all removals, relocations, rearrangements and reconnections herein specified, necessary or required to provide approved operation and coordination of the combined new and existing systems and equipment.
