The City of Fairfax CUE Bus Service (CUE) serves the City of Fairfax, VA and surrounding areas including George Mason University and the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail Station. CUE runs four routes, seven days a week with a fleet of twelve heavy-duty transit buses. CUE recently completed a rebranding project and would like to move forward with introducing the new brand on bus stop signs.. As part of a brand update project, CUE has been provided with a new sign design to replace approximately 204 existing bus stop signs at 200 bus stops throughout the City of Fairfax and surrounding area. To accomplish this, the City is looking to hire a firm to produce 204 new signs, remove existing signs from square posts and other attachments such as telephone poles, and replace with the new signs. Graphic design tweaks will be necessary to adapt the sign .AI or .PDF art file for production. Double Sided 20" wide by 26" tall Bus Stop Sign o .080 Aluminum Signs, Single Blade/Double Faced Design o 3M 3930 (or equivalent) HIP White Reflective Sheeting o Clear Vinyl Overlays Printed with Customer Color Specs (7 colors, HEX codes available) o Laminated with 3M 1160A (or equivalent) Premium Overlay Anti-Graffiti Film o All Signs CNC Machined with 1.5" Radius Corners o (2) 3/8" Holes pre-drilled for mounting to brackets or directly to 2", or 2.5" square posts o Designed and warranted for a minimum 10-year service life Colors: o HEX #005B8B (Pantone 7469 C) o HEX #104165 o HEX #4DC7F3 (Pantone 305 C) o HEX #1AD9B4 (Pantone 3385 C) Each bus stop sign will have a unique combination of bus stop ID number, routes, and destination. The City will provide a list of appropriate details and location for each sign to the selected contractor. In the event that a sign post does not already exist or must be replaced, the contractor will notify the City. At that point the City may approve the contractor to replace the sign post with a 10' x 2" x 2" 14 GA or 12' x 2" x 2" 14 GA steel square post with 7/16" pre-punched holes on 1" centers with 2.25" X 2.25" X 30" 12 GA anchor. A concrete footer is not required. If applicable, a pole-mounted trash can may need to be removed from the old post and replaced on the new post. Please provide pricing for both pole length replacement options with your bid. The City requires that all work to be completed 60 days after award of contract and notice to proceed.
