Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Homestead, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the demolition of a municipal facility; for the construction of a 128,000-square-foot educational facility; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The project will build a new K - 5 elementary school to bring together our communities, our families and our students in a 21st century learning environment. The funds would be applied to the demolition of the Franklin Administration building to make room for the new elementary center; this would include site clearing and preparation, new utilities, and new onsite driveways to improve both onsite circulation and congestion that can spill out into the community. Construction on the project will begin with the demolition of Franklin Primary this summer and is tentatively expected to be completed in August 2026 in time for the beginning of the 2026-27 school year. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
