Demolition and site work for a residential development in Columbus, Georgia. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
21-713 Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or Bidder's Bond for not less than 5% of the bid, made payable to the owner. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the time and date of opening of bids. Performance Bond and Payment Bond will be required of the selected contractor in the full amount of the contract sum. Contractor Qualifications: Only bids from qualified licensed Contractors shall be considered. Qualified Contractors must be licensed as required by the State Licensing Board of Georgia. Prevailing Wages: Contractor will be required to pay to all laborers and mechanics employed under this project, prevailing wages as set forth in Section 14, General conditions for contractors, HUD 5370 EZ and Labor Relations Wage Decision #GA20230050 dated 01/06/2023 GA50, per the Davis-Bacon Act. Contractor shall provide, on a weekly basis, weekly payroll documents. Each payroll document shall provide all required data for each worker by trade and by work site (for all work performed), as applicable. Section 3: Contractor will be required to abide by the Section 3 clause and submit a Section 3 performance report with the Application for Payments. Minority and Female Business Enterprises and Section 3 firms are encouraged to respond to this Request for Proposal. E-Verify Contractor will be required to provide affidavit verifying compliance with O.C.G.A.13-10-91, stating affirmatively that the induvial, firm or corporation has registered with, is authorized to use, and uses the federal work authorization program commonly known an E-Verify. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive technicalities and informalities in the bidding. Project to be completed within 60 days after Notice to Proceed. The project will consist of the removal of the Former Homeless Resource Network Building in its entirety including below grade footings and foundations. Removal of the building includes removal of interior and exterior systems, equipment, furnishings, appurtenances, and utility lines within the building demolition area. Backfill the foundation area and all trenches or holes remaining after removal of foundations and footings with specified fill material, compact to specified density and grade to a smooth and level transition with existing surrounding grades and sloped for positive drainage. All demolished materials shall be removed from the site by the Contractor. The contractor shall legally dispose of all material and pay disposal fees. Protect all trees on site from demolition activities. Protect construction in the public right-of-way, adjacent construction, and any work outside the building demolition area. Protection includes streets, curbs, sidewalks, and utilities. The existing building is one-story in height. The approximate floor area to be demolished is 3,356 square feet. The existing building typical construction is concrete slab on grade foundations. Exterior walls are generally concrete masonry with face brick. The building structure is typical construction built in phases with single roofing. Interior walls are masonry and gypsum drywall on metal studs. Interior finishes are typical commercial grade items. All necessary actions should be taken to prevent run-off into the nearby Chattahoochee River. This should include silk fencing, hay bales, etc. All required erosion control permits and/or monitoring reporting is the responsibility of the contractor. This Contract includes demolition and removal of building, foundations, steps, and other structures from the project site, including walkways from the public sidewalks up to the building. Brush, rubbish, trash, undergrowth and junk apart from that of demolished buildings shall be removed and the site left clear of such materials. Except as otherwise shown or stipulated the demolition work here specified shall be carried down to the existing ground level. Underground utilities are to be abandoned and/or capped. Area is to be fine graded, fertilized and seeded. Fertilizing shall consist of liming with Dolomitic limestone at a rate of 40 lbs./1000 sq. ft. of area and fertilizing with 5-10-15 at a rate of 12 lbs./1000 sq. ft. of area. Fertilizer and lime shall be applied before final seedbed preparation is completed. Seeding shall consist of the following mixture: Common Bermuda unhulled seed at rate of 4 lbs./1000 sq. ft., plus Dove Proso Millet seed at a rate of 1/2 (half a pound) lbs./1000 sq. ft. Seeding mixture shall be incorporated into the top 1/4 inch of the prepared seedbed. Entire seeded area shall be covered with wheat straw mulch and shall be kept watered as necessary to produce a satisfactory stand of healthy grass.
