The scope of work includes demolition of the existing needle valves and associated pipes; installation of two new axial flow control valves, two new knife gate valves, new pipes, and a new gantry crane. The work is to be performed in Tuolumne County, California. Bid discounts may be applied as per San Francisco Administrative Code Chapter 14B and Section 2.01 of CM D Attachment 6. The Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontracting requirement is 8.00%. The LBE subcontracting requirement can only be met with CM D certified San Francisco Micro and Small-LBEs and SFPUC Micro & Small-LBEs. The 8% LBE subcontracting requirement is established due to the remote location of the project and because the scope requires highly skilled trades with limited LBE availability, such as large diameter pipes and valves installation, gantry crane installation, and rigging heavy equipment through a vertical shaft to a tunnel.
