As of October 8, 2024, an engineer has been selected for the project. Phase I construction has been bid. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, phase II construction is not expected to start prior to spring of 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The City of Olathe, Kansas, Engineering Division is requesting qualified design firms to submit qualifications for the preparation of design documents for construction of the following project as part of the 2024 Olathe Street Reconstruction Program: Project Name: South Hamilton Circle Improvements Project Project Number: 3-R-001-24 Project Limits: South Hamilton Circle (Harrison Street to Public Safety Drive), Sunvale Drive (Public Safety to West Limit), Public Safety Drive (Hamilton Circle to Old 56 Highway) Designed improvements will include removal of the existing street, installation of subgrade improvements, asphalt pavement, concrete curb and gutter, driveway approaches, sidewalks and ADA sidewalk ramps, streetlight installation, stormwater improvements, and waterline improvements. Design services will include survey of existing conditions, utility coordination, public involvement, acquisition documentation (title reports, surveyed exhibits, easement documents, etc.) needed for any right-of-way or easements, developing construction plans in accordance with Olathe design standards and specifications, cost estimates, assistance with bidding of projects for construction and assistance as needed throughout construction.
