The Civic Center Complex Central Utility Plant (CUP) is the main source of power for the Council Chamber, City Hall, Police Department Building, Fire Station #37, Community Center Building, and the Adult Recreation Building has several operational and maintenance issues, and is in need of work. Many of the original components when the CUP was constructed, circa 1969, are still in use. In July 2020, a condition assessment was completed and the report outlines recommended capital improvements to the CUP to address several operational and maintenance issues. Staff recommends a phased approach to complete these improvements which are intended to improve efficiency and plant reliability.
