Site work and paving for a road / highway in Southington, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
The work includes furnishing, installing and incorporating all materials and equipment into the project as well as performing or providing all labor, supervision, equipment and services unless otherwise noted within the bid documents. "Bid Proposal Form", "Schedule of Prices", "Bid Bond", "Non Collusion Affidavit" and "Bidder's Prequalification" approval letter signed by the CTDOT Contracts Manager (CON-16) for heavy highway work must be completed and returned with the submitted bid. Failure to properly execute and include any one of these five documents in the bid submission will result in the bid not being read and the subsequent rejection of the bid. A Surety Company Bond, on the form furnished in the bid, for at least 10% of the amount of the bid must accompany each proposal. A certified check will not be accepted. Performance and payment bonds at 100% of the contract value are also required once awarded. The bidder agrees that 9% of the awarded contract value shall be performed by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE) certified by the Connecticut Department of Transportation as a subcontractor or owner operator of construction equipment. The bidder must indicate with their bid, the DBE firm(s) it intends to utilize to meet the above stated percentage and submit the Pre-Award DBE Commitment Approval Request forms with the bid forms. The Town of Southington hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation, and that they will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin or sex, in consideration for this award. All bidders are required to inform themselves fully of the conditions relating to the construction and labor under which the work will be or is now being performed and the Contractor shall employ, as far as possible, such methods and means in the carrying out of this work as will not cause interruption or interference with any other contractor. The Town of Southington reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
