The project consists of the following items: Base Bid: 2,635 C.Y. Excavation, 5,190 S.Y. of Superpave Base Course, 25 mm, 9,800 S.Y. Superpave Wearing Course, 9.5 mm, and various other improvements including bituminous swale and curbing. Add Alternate Bids 1: 2,075 S.Y. Milling 1 1/2 Inch Depth, and 2,075 S.Y. Superpave Wearing Course, 9.5 mm, and various other improvements including bituminous curbing. Add Alternate Bid 2: 375 C.Y. Excavation, 2,250 S.Y. of Superpave Base Course, 25 mm, 2,250 S.Y. of Wearing Course, 9.5 mm, and various other improvements This Contract provides for the reconstruction of Griffin Pond Road, Fawnwood Drive, Lakewood Drive, Leach Hill Road, Cedarwood Place, Ashbury Drive, and Laconia Circle (part 1) in South Abington Township within the Base Bid. Add Alternate 1 will consist of road reconstruction of Laconia Circle (part 2) in South Abington Township. Add Alternate 2 will consist of road reconstruction of Wynwood Road in Glenburn Township. Bidders must obtain documents through Atlas Technical at the herein listed address in order to be considered a responsive Bidder. Either a Certified Check or a Bid Bond drawn to the order of South Abington Township and Glenburn Township, respectively, in the amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid as bid security. Successful Bidder should be expected to execute and file the proposed contract and to furnish and pay for performance, payment, and other bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as security for the performance and payment of all costs thereof within ten (10) days after the issuance of the intent to award of the contract. All Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS, Paragraph 14 - BID SUBMISSION. South Abington Township AND Glenburn Township hereby reserve the right, which is understood and agreed to by all Bidders, to reject any or all Bids submitted; and also reserves the right to waive any informality in Bids received, but any contract awarded will be to the lowest responsible, qualified Bidder. The Pennsylvania State Prevailing Wage Rates will apply to this project. All bidders must be prequalified with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and must submit a current, Prequalification Certificate, with the Bid Form. Prequalification requirements shall be in accordance with 67 PA Code, Chapter 457, Regulations Governing Prequalification's of Prospective Bidders. Bidders must be prequalified for the classification code for the type of work to be performed for the project being bid. Except as otherwise provided by law, no Bidder may withdraw their Bid within sixty (60) consecutive days after the actual date of opening thereof, or one hundred twenty (120) consecutive calendar days if the award is delayed by a required approval of another governmental agency, the sale of bonds, or the award of grant or grants.
