sealed bids will be received by the Egg Harbor Township Board of Education for the Egg Harbor Township High School Bagel Caf Exhaust Hood Replacement in the Township of Egg Harbor, Atlantic County, New Jersey. Bid forms, contracts and specifications are on file at the office of Remington and Vernick Engineers, 845 N. Main Street, Pleasantville, New Jersey 08232. PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED PRIOR TO OBTAINING SAID SPECIFICATIONS, EITHER BY MAIL OR IN PERSON. NO BIDS ARE TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THE ENGINEER'S OFFICE. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, either in whole or in part and also waive any informality in any bid or bids received, in accordance with applicable law. Bids must be on the bid form prepared by Remington and Vernick Engineers, in the manner designated therein and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder on the outside and also bearing on the outside reference to the particular work bid upon. ALL CONSTRUCTION MUST BE COMPLETE, DEMOBILIZED, AND THE SITE RESTORED PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE ADDITIONAL CREWS OR WORKFORCE AS NEEDED TO MEET THE MANDATORY PROJECT SCHEDULE AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO THE OWNER. Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or bid bond duly executed by the bidder as principal and having as surety thereon a surety company approved by the Board of Education in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 of the amount bid. Any such bid bond shall be without endorsement or conditions. The bidder must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Schools Development Authority and the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction, and have a valid up-to-date notice of classification prior to the date that bids are received. Any bid submitted under the terms of the New Jersey statutes not including a copy of a valid and active pre-qualification/classification certificate will be rejected as being non-responsive to the bid requirements. Each Bidder will submit with their bid a Certificate of Consent of Surety as per N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-25 from a Surety Company stating that it will provide the bidder, if successful, with a Performance/Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract. The award of the contract shall be made subject to the necessary moneys to do the work being provided by the Egg Harbor Township Board of Education in a lawful manner. The contract to be executed by the successful bidder will provide that it shall not become effective until the necessary moneys to do the work have been provided by the Egg Harbor Township Board of Education in a lawful manner. The award shall further be subjected to the securing of necessary State, Federal or Local permits governing the work. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set for the opening thereof. Bidding shall be in conformance with the applicable requirements of N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-1 et seq., pertaining to the "Public School Contracts Law". All Bidders are placed on notice that they are required to comply with all requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27, Affirmative Action, current regulations, N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq., New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act, and American With Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. S12101, et seq.). All Bidders must comply with all requirements of Federal, State and Local and current applicable regulations. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2 and submit a Disclosure Statement listing stockholders with his bid. The contractor is further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.48 et seq. Public Works Contractor Registration Act and he and any subcontractors must be registered in accordance with the act. The contractor is also further notified that he must comply with N.J.S.A. 52:32-44 and submit proof of business registration and submit proof of business registration for any named subcontractors in accordance with the act. Eveiy request for such interpretation should be made in writing, addressed to the Engineer, and to be given consideration, must be received at least ten (10) days prior to the final date fixed for receiving bids A The work on this project includes the replacement of exhaust hood serving the bagel cafe and related work. B. The scope of work shad consist of the folloynng. 1. The provision of pre-demcirtion testing. aclustrig. and balancing of existing HVAC equipment and systems as ndicated on the contract documents. 2. Demolibon of existing HVAC systems as indicated on the contract documents including but not limited to the tollowng a. Exhaust Fans and all associated ductwork, corbels, etc. b. Exhaust hood and all associated ductwork, winna controls. etc. C. Dry Chemical Fire Suppression system and all associated pipng. controls. supports, wiring, etc. 3. Provision ci new HVAC systems as indicated on the contract documents including but not limited to the following: a Exhaust Fen and all associated duchvorkpurbp, controls, witing.,etc. b. Exhaust hood and ad associated ductwork, controls, wring, supports, etc. e Exhaust hood controls system and all associated wirig. electrical power, etc. d. Stairiess steel exhaust ductwork including but not limited to ductwork. access panels, deanouts. fire rated wrap. etc. e. Dry Chemical Fire Suppression system and all associated piping, controls, supports. Wring. etc. f. Ductwork and gnles for transfer air and all associated supports, insularion, identificatan, etc. 4. The provision el a new duct enclosure for the new ductwork and at associatedfloor penetrations. etc, 5. The air balancing of all newly installed mechanical equipment as indicated on the contract documents and any needed rebalancing of existing systems for makeup air. The contractor shall include on their bid cost the provision of all new volume dampers, circuit setters, valves. etc to balance the mechanical equipment to the airflow flow values shown on the contract documents at no additional cost to the owner. 6. The Contractor is responsible for the installation of all equipment ductwork. piping, 'rating and insulation as indicated in the plans and specifications and as described herein. At equipment installation shall be performed in accordance with the Execution sections of the equipment specifications and in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. 7. The Contractor is responsible for the Purchase and installation of all mechanical equipment and components indicated on the contract documents. The Contractor shall provide the equipment warranty and factory startup (whey required) for atl equipment and components indicated on the contract documents 8. The contractor shall provide installation for all field installed control devices such as control valves, air control dampers. etc. Curt devices to be supplied by the contractor as indicated on the equipment schedules. Contractor shall provide electrical power, data, and other connections where indicated on the contract drawings. 9. Prior to the start of any roofing wok, the contractor shall review the roof warranty information. The contractor shall contact the manufacturer of the enstIng rooting system(s) for recommended methods of cutting and repairing the existing roofing system prior to beginning work. 10. All roof restoration work must be performed in accordance with the manufacture's requirements. Upon completion of the work, the contractor must schedule an inspection by the manufacturer of each system and provide a letter from the manufacturer indicating as roof work was performed in accordance with manufactures requirements and that the roof warranty remains valid.
