As of 04/27/2023 The bids were rejected and the project was awarded to Wood County based on their engineers estimate which was more than 20% lower than either of the bids. As of 04/19/2023 Since the engineers estimate was more than 10% less than the lowest bid - all bids were rejected and the town accepted the Wood County Engineers Estimate. Yellowstone Drive beginning 280 feet east of the City of Marshfield limits (east of the concrete pavement) to the Village of Hewitt west limits located at the west radius point of West 11th Street, to include the intersection of Stadt Road. (Approximately 2970 feet) is a LRIP Town Road Improvement Project. The 280 feet of Yellowstone Drive between the concrete and the starting point of the LRIP project, as well as the 20 feet north and south on Stadt Road is not LRIP funded however is included in the project as nonparticipating costs. The overall project length is approximately 3,250 feet. Work includes pulverizing full asphalt depth, approximately 3" (8,800 sy), grade, shape so base is crowned to a 2 percent from center line, compact, pave 1,550 tons of type 4MT 58-28S, 3 inches thick placed in 2-1 1/2 " lifts, place 250 tons of compacted 3/4 " crushed aggregate for shoulder 2 foot wide by 3 inches deep with a shoulder machine and compacted with a smooth drum or pneumatic roller. All work and materials shall be in accordance with Wisconsin Department of Transportation standard specifications for Highway and Structure Construction, 2023 Edition. The Town of Marshfield reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept any bid they deem most advantageous to the town. All work to be completed by August 25, 2023.
