Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Middlesex, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a 36,855-square-foot sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

NUMBER: 8845VMMS and 8845WES - Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Middlesex Board of Education ("Board"), Middlesex County, New Jersey for the Parking Lot Replacements at Watchung Elementary School and Von E. Mauger Middle School ("Project") STATE PROJECT #: 23-3140-085-22-1000 1. Site clearing and phased demolition as required for the proposed construction. 2. Engage a private underground utility location & mark out company to mark out all proposed construction areas and at least 50 feet beyond in all directions. Maintain the mark out throughout construction. 3. Excavation as needed for pavement and curb construction, utility installation & trenching, and general site construction. 4. General earthwork needed to change the contour of the land and as needed to improve overland drainage and to construct all site improvements that are proposed in the project. 5. Installation of new underground utilities, including; electrical conduits, drainage and storm sewer systems and under drains. 6. Construction of new hot mix asphalt pavement, concrete curbs, monolithic curb & gutter, ADA curb ramps, and concrete walkways. 7. Construction of site lighting and related underground conduits and handholes. 8. Removal and reinstallation of guiderails as needed to provide work clearance. 9. De-watering of all excavations throughout construction. 10. Other site work as indicated on the Construction Plan Set. 11. Restoration of vegetated areas, the spreading of topsoil, seeding, & mulching as required. 12. Control of access to the construction and staging areas with the installation of temporary 6 foot high chain link fencing, traffic and pedestrian detouring & control signs, and construction traffic control. 13. Control of soil erosion and sedimentation during the term of the contract or until permanent ground cover has been established. 14. Off-site disposal of all excess soil, construction debris, unsuitable material, and waste associated with the project. 15. Engage a certified materials testing and inspection company to verify that the construction materials and procedures related to all site work (including; pavements, utilities, and related appurtenances) in the project, meet or exceed the project specifications. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26, in order to be eligible to submit a bid for the Project, the Bidder shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction ("DPMC") as of the date and time of the bid opening as C009 General Construction/Alterations/Additions. Further, if the Bidder is not classified by the DPMC as C047 Electrical, the Bidder shall be required to retain a subcontractor that is DPMC classified C047. The C047 subcontractor shall be be named in the bid and all required documents for the electrical subcontractor shall be provided within the time required by the bid documents and/or by law. Further, if the Bidder is not classified by the DPMC as C056 Sewer Piping & Storm Drains, the Bidder shall be required to retain a subcontractor that is DPMC classified C056. However, the C056 subcontractor shall not be named in the bid. All required documents for the C056 subcontractor (Business Registration Certificate, Public Works Certificate, etc.) shall be provided after award. Bids shall be submitted on the provide proposal forms and be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check of bid bond draw to the order of the "Middlesex Board of Education" for not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but in no case in excess of Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). Bid securities shall comply with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-24. Bids shall include a Consent of Surety obligating the issuing surety company to provide the bidder and its subcontractors, if successful, with a New Jersey Statutory Performance and Payment Bond for public works projects in the full amount of the contract. 4860-3388-9622, v. 1 No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days after the opening date. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids and/or waive any informality in the bidding, as permitted by law. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq., and N.J.A.C. 17:27. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.50 et seq., Bidders and their subcontractors are required to be registered with the New Jersey Department of Labor.
