Saving Project...

Renovation of a water / sewer project in Spring Hill, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The City of Gardner is seeking bid proposals from qualified contractors to perform a rehabilitation project on the pulsating clarifiers at the water treatment plant. The job location is 22705 Moonlight Rd. Spring Hill, KS. The structural integrity of the support system of this clarifier is compromised. The settler plates have sustained severe deterioration as well as the support members due to corrosion. This work is to be done in a two-phase fashion. Phase 1 includes securing the settler plates at their top flange with upper bracing, while remaining buoyant. Temporarily supporting the settler plates from above permanent concrete structure is needed. The angle iron bracing to be replaced with stainless steel and fasteners permanently attached to each settler plates' top flange. This will be supported by temporary wire rope assemblies. The wire rope assemblies are standard steel but shall be removed after phase 2 completion. It is recommended to limit pressure to settler plates during installation of bracing. Phase 2 will consist of securing the settler plates at their bottom flange with lower bracing while the basin is temporarily drained. This shall be achieved by permanently supporting the settler plates from the bottom of the basin. New stainless steel angle iron bracing, fasteners, column supports and plates permanently attached to the settler plates' bottom flanges, while being supported by Phase 1's temporary and permanent bracing. The phase 1 wire rope assemblies may be removed after phase 2 is completed. The sealed envelope for proposals shall be addressed to the City of Gardner Utilities Department, Attention: Jeff LeMire, marked "Proposal for: Hillsdale WTP Clarifier Structural Repair Project, WA7006. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any and all Bids and to waive any technicalities or irregularities therein. Bids may only be withdrawn or corrected pursuant to the provisions of K.S.A. 75-6902, as amended, et seq. Bids may be modified or withdrawn by written request of the Bidder if such requests are received in the office of the City Clerk, prior to the time and date for Bid opening. This project qualifies for sales tax exemption for purchasing materials and supplies.
