Proposals are requested for a Restroom Renovations project, at USPS owned Merrifield, VA Research & Development Engineering Building, 8403 Lee Highway, Merrifield, VA 22082-8101, Fairfax County. Work will be completed in accordance with the attached specifications, drawings and other solicitation documents. An award for this requirement is contingent upon funding approval which is anticipated to be received during the evaluation phase of this project The Contractor - used in DDB, DB or R&A or must provide all material, labor, tools, plant, supplies, equipment, transportation, superintendence, temporary construction of every nature, and all other services and facilities necessary to complete the construction of a postal facility for the Postal Service, including all incidental work described in the contract documents. B. Restrooms upgrades at the Merrifield R&D Building to include 8 men/women's public restrooms, 2 single-use restrooms in the USPIS suite, and 2 restrooms in the automotive shop. The scope of work will require phasing to maintain operations and includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. General: a. Existing facility shall remain in operation throughout construction. Construction shall be phased to not impact facility operations with three construction mobilizations. 2. Architectural: a. Replace wall finishes b. Replace floor finishes c. Replace toilet partitions, ceiling hung d. Remove and provide new mirrors e. Remove and provide new paper towel dispensers f. Provide electric hand dryers g. Provide solid surface counters with integral lavatories h. Upgrades for RE-4 compliance i. Replace shower stalls with RE-4 compliant stall 3. Plumbing: a. Replace wall hung water closets b. Replace wall hung urinals c. New lavatories d. Hard-wired automatic sensors for plumbing fixtures, including flush valves, faucets, soap dispensers e. Modify floor drains as necessary f. Replace water dispensers with dual-height electric water coolers 4. Mechanical: a. Replace heating hot water cabinet unit heaters in automotive shop b. Provide new exhaust grilles c. Add VAV box on each floor to supply 150cfm of conditioned air to each space d. Start up, test, and balance all equipment. 5. Electrical: a. Recess existing receptacles, fire alarm devices, and any other wall mounted electrical equipment. b. Modify lighting layout and replace with LED fixtures c. Provide occupancy sensor controls d.
