Site work for a mixed-use development in Peabody, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and water / sewer project.
The Bid describes construction services related to new plantings, installation of user amenities, invasive species management and maintenance and pathway and stormwater construction to improve pedestrian and user activities at James Street Park. The City of Peabody is not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of bids prepared using documents obtained from any source other than the City Purchasing Agent. Only those firms on record with the City Purchasing Department shall receive communications concerning this Bid, as will be issued after the date on which Bid Documents were first made available. All bids shall be accompanied by bid security as a bid bond in the form prescribed under MGL Ch. 30 39M, in cash, or a certified check, or treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, drawn for an amount of five percent (5%) of the value of the bid; all security made payable to the City of Peabody. A Performance Bond, as well as a Labor and Materials or Payment Bond, each in such a form as prescribed in the Bid Documents, and issued by a firm properly licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, shall be furnished to the City before the signing of the Contract, by the Contractor who shall be awarded the work. These bonds shall be drawn for One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Total Contract Price. Minimum wage rates apply as established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts under authority of M.G.L., Chapter 149, sections 26 to 27G inclusive. The Contractor shall be responsible during the progress of the work for full compliance with these laws by their forces and those of any subcontractors who may be used, including reporting of worker payrolls. Information herein may be modified by notice to Bidders in Addendum or otherwise as distributed or posted by the City Purchasing Department. The City of Peabody reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject any or all Bids, or part(s) thereof, including accepting Bid Alternates and to accept the Bid deemed most satisfactory to the City, as deemed to be in the best public interest to do so. Pedestrian Pathway & Plaza 1) Install erosion controls. 2) Coordinate with invasive species work for additional treatments prior to pathway construction. 3) Clear and grub all. 4) Coordinate with City for Storage Building Demolition within James Street Park. 5) Stake centerline of proposed pathway. 6) Excavate pathway and over-dig corridor to account for invasive species, if necessary. 7) Rough grade the site and shape stormwater conveyance swales as required to minimize erosion. 8) Furnish materials and construct stormwater treatment areas as indicated on the drawings. 9) Furnish and install drainage structure, riprap, and pipes as indicated on the drawings. 10) Confirm invasive species suppression and conduct any additional treatment as required to suppress invasive species within the limit of work area. 11) Install crushed stone subbase for pathway. 12) Install concrete vertical granite curb for plaza and sidewalk improvements. 13) Furnish and install bike racks, collapsible bollards, and bench. 14) Furnish clean loam and fine grade all disturbed areas. 15) Furnish all plants in sizes and quantities as indicated on the drawings. Submit a comprehensive list to Landscape Architect for review and approval prior to material purchase. 16) Hydroseed all disturbed areas not called out to be planted. 17) Provide proper plant care until work is approved as substantially complete. 18) Provide 1-year warranty newly seeded areas. Additional Invasive Species Management and Maintenance 1) Provide an additional 1-year landscape maintenance and monitoring as defined in the specifications, subsequent to the base warranty period
