Construction of 300 ft runway pavement extension and displacement of Runway 12 threshold 500 ft. This project will include replacing Runway 12/30 lighting and re-painting of the entire runway. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security, as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, as security that the successful bidder will enter into a contract for the work bid upon. The bidder's security shall be in an amount equal to 5% percent of the total amount of the bid. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. If the bidder fails to execute the contract and to furnish an acceptable performance and payment bond or provide a Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days after acceptance of the bid by the Iowa City Airport Commission, the bid security may be forfeited or cashed by the Iowa City Airport Commission as liquidated damages. The Iowa City Airport Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid, and toenter into such contract, or contracts, as it shall deem to be to the best interest of the Iowa City Airport Commission. Goals for minority participation for each trade: 1.5% Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9 % Phase 1 shall be defined asthe work along Runway 12/30 not within the Runway Object Free Zone for Runway 07/25 or Taxiway Object Free Area for Taxiway A. Work under Phase 1 shall be completed in Forty (40) working days. Phase 2 shall be defined as the work along Runway 12/30 within the Taxiway Object Free Area for Taxiway A. Work under Phase 2 shall be completed in five (5) working days. Phase 2 work shall be completed concurrently with Phase 1 work. The maximum total amount of working days allotted for the contract is 40 working days. Phase 3 work shall be completed concurrently with Phase 1 work. The maximum total amount of working days allotted for the contract is Forty (40) working days.
