Site work for a road / highway in Nakusp, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The Proposal is for the rehabilitation of the Nakusp Hotsprings Source trail, a 700 meter trail from the Nakusp Hotsprings pool facility across the Kuskanax footbridge along the river to the hot springs source. The trail connects with two other area trails: The Kimbol Lake Trail and the longer Hotsprings Trail from Glenbank. The intent of the rehabilitation is to improve the trail condition so that more people may be access and enjoy the hike. In addition there are some areas that are subject to erosive water damage that require drainage improvements. The protection of the source wetlands through better defined trails is also a goal. Proposals must comply with the list of deliverables as follows: Trail Improvement: The trail is to be leveled and have tripping hazards removed. Stairs to be built with uniform rise/run where appropriate Wet areas to be filled with crush, and drainage of the trail to be improved using drains, berms or other means. Larger wet areas to have raised walkways constructed. Source improvements: Raised walkway over source area entrance to prevent visitors from walking though wet areas. (Or alternate solution.) Fencing or high (50cm) path edging or other means to keep visitors from walking into the wet source areas. A roofed kiosk, with a 1m (h) x 1.5m (w) display board, with clear polycarbonate cover for display of site historical information. The structure to be built of treated or decay resistant wood, built on raised concrete footings.
