Some of the environmental equipment used in the Historic Courthouse datacenter is getting old and needs to be replaced. Specifically, 1.air handler units (AHU) of which there are three,one in the datacenter, one in the center hallway and one in the Print Shop with the plan to replace them with two redundant units for just the datacenter space, and let the normal heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) take care of the other areas on that floor; 2. uninterruptible power supply (UPS) which is the battery backup for outlets in the datacenter that support the servers and networking equipment, to help bridge any power outages to the building; and 3. power distribution units (PDU) which are fed with power from the UPS and regulate the power going to the equipment in the room. They more evenly distribute the power and make sure circuits/breakers are not over provisioned. The project is included in the County 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of April 13,2026, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
