Renovation of a municipal facility in Everett, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 12,600-square-foot, two-story above grade municipal facility.

"The contract has been withdrawn as the bids came in extremely high." No Award. Possible Rebid Electronic proposals for the following project will be received through the internet using website until the date and time stated below and will be posted on website forthwith after the bid submission deadline. No paper copies of bids will be accepted. Bidders must have a valid digital ID issued by the Authority in order to bid on projects. Bidders need to apply for a digital ID with website at least 14 days prior to a scheduled bid opening date. The project includes the interior renovation and exterior window replacement of approximately 12,000 Square Feet of interior office space located at the second level of Building #3 at MBTA's Everett Yard, 80 Broadway, Everett MA. The space is currently and will remain unoccupied, however access via Main Entrance shall be coordinated with Facilities Department. Each prospective bidder proposing to bid on this project must be prequalified in accordance with the Authority's "Procedures Governing Classification and Rating of Prospective Bidders." Copies may be obtained at website. Applications for prequalification for this Project will be accepted up until the bid date. Contractors should allow for ample time for the Authority to evaluate and respond to the Prequalification Application prior to the bid opening date. Only contractors prequalified by the bid date will be considered eligible. Bidders' attention is directed to Appendix 1, Notice of Requirement for Affirmative Action to Insure Equal Employment Opportunity; and to Appendix 2, Supplemental Equal Employment Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination, and Affirmative Action Program in the specifications. While there is no DBE goal associated with this contract, the Authority strongly encourages the use of Minority, Women and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises as prime contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in all of its contracting opportunities. Bidders will affirmatively ensure that in regard to any contract entered into pursuant to this solicitation, minority and female construction contractors will be afforded full opportunity to submit Bids and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, age, or national origin in consideration for an award. Bidders will be required to comply with Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Regulations and the President's Executive Order No. 11246 and any amendments or supplements thereto. Bidders will also be required to comply with the Governor's Executive Order No. 481, prohibiting the use of undocumented workers on State Contracts and any amendments and supplements thereto. All questions during the bid phase should be directed to the MBTA Project Manager in writing or emailed to the contact information above. Questions are to be submitted no later than ten (10) days prior to the date set forth for the opening of the bids. Bidders will be required to certify as part of their bids that they are able to furnish labor that can work in harmony with all other elements of labor employed or to be employed on the work. This Contract is subject to minimum State wage rates as well as all other applicable labor laws. Bid Guaranty shall consist of a bid deposit in the amount of five (5) percent of the value of the bid, in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond each for the full amount of the Contract price. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities, to advertise for new Bids or proceed to do the work otherwise, as may be deemed to be in the best interests of the Authority. A This project includes the renovation of interior office space located at the second level of Building #3 at MBTA's Everett Yard. The Supplementary Conditions of the Contract Specifications will contain a description of the Work under the Contract, times for commencement and completion. B. In summary, the Work includes the removal of an existing freight elevator equipment, and its associated services; removal of interior partition and Refinishing of interior spaces; mechanical and electrical work related to the office interiors, new acoustical ceiling with light fixtures, diffusers and other items mounted on the ceiling tile, including upgrades to MEP distribution systems; incidental cutting and patching of walls/floors/ceilings, as well as painting of new and existing surfaces; new wayfinding and tactile/braille signage; a new Building 3 entrance doorway at grade. C. The contractor is required to coordinate access to work zones and limits of work in the project area with MBTA Facilities. The area in scope is not occupied, nor will it be throughout the duration of this contract, however MBTA staff working in parts of Building #3 outside project limits are using the Main Entrance of Building 3. D. The contract includes coordination with Owner-Furnished and Owner-Install furniture, furnishing and equipment, coordination which includes but is not limited to schedule, floor finishes, painting, and electrical scope of work. Coordination and provision of service lines for furniture, furnishing and equipment is included under the Contract Documents in Furniture Layout plans and Equipment schedules. Final connections from electrical and data service lines to equipment will be by the Owner, unless otherwise indicated in the Contract Documents.
