WSA is planning to pump water from the South Saskatchewan River to supplement the low water level in Pike Lake by facilitating an approximately 1,300,000 m3 of water into the Pike Lake. The intention is to hire a contractor to supply, install, and manage a floating barge pumping system in South Saskatchewan River at the Pike Lake pump station site located on NW 35-33-6 W3. WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province's water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing 72 dams and related supply channels.
