The scope of this project involves the construction of an emergency access road at Veteran's Memorial Park, located at Calverton, NY. The Town anticipates that the specifications will include but is not limited to Site Preparation (Mobilization, Construction Layout, etc.); Clearing and Grubbing (+- 1.1 acres); Excavation/Embankment; Subbase & Base Course Aggregate; Fine Grading Base (Binder) Course Asphalt Pavement; Grading Spreading Topsoil & Seed; Miscellaneous Structures (Gate, Signage, etc.) and Erosion & Sediment Controls (Silt Fence). The proposal must be submitted on the form provided and must be in a sealed envelope clearly marked, "EPCAL Emergency Road Access Project" and must be accompanied by a bid surety as stated in the Instruction to Bidders. Proposals will be considered only from bidders who, for themselves or for intended and stated subcontractors, can show recent experience in the performance of similar work of equal difficulty and magnitude. The failure to attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting & Site Inspection will result in disqualification of the bidder. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that the Town Board reserves the right to reject in whole or in part any or all bids, waive any informality in the bids and accept the bid which is deemed most favorable in the interest of the Town of Riverhead. The Town Board will use its discretion to make judgmental determination as to its best estimate of the lowest bidder. Note: Bid responses must be delivered to the Office of the Town Clerk at the address above.
