Demolition, site work and addition to a museum in Augusta, Georgia. Completed plans call for the addition of a 301,104-square-foot, three-story above grade museum; for the demolition of a museum; and for site work for a museum.

Construction Services for Augusta Museum of History Whitney Building Addition - for Augusta, GA - Central Services Department - Facilities Maintenance The base bid shall include all work indicated in the drawings to the west of the Whitney Building (warehouse), including all required construction/renovation of the existing west wing addition to Whitney Building (warehouse), housing the Elevator Equipment Room and HVAC Enclosure. This would include reroofing only the area directly above Elevator Equipment room and new metal caps around the top of the HVAC Enclosure and the west parapet wall of the warehouse area of the Whitney Building. The Base Bid shall require the installation of the expansion joint flashing and counter flashing required by detail 5/A-303. The Base Bid shall require the installation of CMU knock-out panels in leu of overhead door 102F and the personnel door 102G, according to notes on the structural drawings for knock-out panels on A-101 and the details on A-801. The bid shall include all sitework associated corridor addition, east of the Whitney building as indicated on CD-101 and C-101 No bid may be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after Bids have been opened, pending the execution of contract with the successful vendor. A 10% Bid bond is required to be submitted along with the bidders' qualifications. A 100% performance bond and a 100% payment bond will be required for award. Questions discussed with any other officer, agent or employee of Augusta will not be considered binding in consideration of this proposal and shall not affect the risks or obligations assumed by the Contractor or relieve him from fulfilling any of the conditions of the Contract. Augusta, Georgia (hereinafter referred to as the Owner) intends to select a qualified vendor to provide construction services for the expansion to the Augusta Museum of History Whitney Building Addition for the Central Services Department. The existing building is located at 560 Reynolds Street in Augusta. The proposed project is to construct a connector between the main building and historical warehouses to the east. The Owner reserves the right to consider proposals or modification thereof received at any time before the award is made if such action is in the interest of the Owner.
