This project is to Refurbish all three (3) chilled water-cooling towers located at the Olmsted Waste to Energy Facility (OWEF) in Rochester, Minnesota. OWEF employs three (3) chilling towers: (Tower-1) 1991 BAC Tower Model 3866R, (Tower-2) 1992 BAC Tower Model 3642, and (Tower-3) 2003 BAC Tower Model 33758. The OWEF consists of two (2) 100 ton-per-day and one (1) 200 ton-per-day MSW combustor boiler units of the mass-burn water-cooled wall design, three (3) steam turbine-generators, MSW receiving facility, ash handling systems, air pollution control equipment, necessary auxiliary installations, medium voltage equipment necessary to connect with the utility grid, and a natural gas fired backup boiler. Estimated budget is $75,000. This work shall be performed approximately between May 1st, 2023 and July 1st, 2023 - All work in Section 4 to be performed by contractor or authorized subcontractor. - Remove all vanes, support framing, plumbing, grates, filters etc. in and around the cellular plastic fill (fill), to support their complete removal. -Remove all fill material and dispose of directly into the OWEF MSW pit. No disposal fee will be charged. -Remove existing sump hood, screens, and walkways, etc. to allow 100% access to cold water basin, and side walls. -Install new fill materials per the OEM standards after coatings have fully cured. -Reinstall all framing, vanes, tie rods, strainers, fill valves, decking, sump etc. -Repeat process until all three (3) towers have been completed.
