The Project consists of the construction of approximately 2,391 lineal feet of six-inch HDPE water line along Missouri Highway 3 and connections to the existing line at each end of the new water line and reconnections of existing service lines. Approximately 1,266 lineal feet is to be bored along the south end of the alignment. Project location: moberly, mo The issuing office for the Bidding Documents is: McClure, 107 Butler Street, Macon, MO 63552. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the issuing office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below Information regarding this project can be found in the "Public Jobs" link on the website. Contractors desiring the Contract Documents for use in preparing bids may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies; 10840 West 86 th Street, Lenexa, KS 66214, telephone number is 913-371-4430. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier's checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc. Questions on the Bid Documents from general contractors and sub-contractors will be answered by the Macon, MO office of the Consulting Engineer. All questions must be submitted using the Request for Information Form (RFI) included in the specifications to Susan Copenhaver of the consulting engineer via e-mail at scopenhaver@mecresults.com. Any explanation or interpretation made will be in the form of a written response on the RFI form or by Addendum issued by the Consulting Engineer and furnished to all Bidders identified as plan holders of record. No requests for alternate or "equivalent" products will be considered prior to Bid Opening. The owner reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. No Bid Bond is required. The contractor that is awarded the project will be required to provide a performance bond for the work awarded. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. For questions, please email: Susan Copenhaver of McClure at scopenhaver@mcclurevision.com Travis Ginter of THPWSD # 1 at THwater1@mcmsys.com The Work will be substantially completed within 90 days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run Contractor and Owner recognize that time is of the essence of this Agreement and that Owner will suffer financial loss if the Work is not completed within the times specified in Paragraph 4.02 above, plus any extensions thereof allowed in accordance with Article 12 of the General Conditions. The parties also recognize the delays, expense, and difficulties involved in proving in a legal or arbitration proceeding the actual loss suffered by Owner if the Work is not completed on time. Accordingly, instead of requiring any such proof, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty), Contractor shall pay Owner $ 1,000.00 for each day that expires after the time specified in Paragraph 4.02 for Substantial Completion until the Work is substantially complete. After Substantial Completion, if Contractor shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining Work within the Contract Time or any proper extension thereof granted by Owner, Contractor shall pay Owner $ 100.00 for each day that expires after the time specified in Paragraph 4.02 for completion and readiness for final payment until the Work is completed and ready for final payment. ARTICLE 5 - CONTRACT PRICE 5.01 Owner shall pay Contractor for completion of the Work in accordance with the Contract Documents an amount in current funds equal to the sum of the amounts determined pursuant to Paragraphs 5.01.A, 5.01.B, and 5.01.C below: A. For all Unit Price Work, an amount equal to the sum of the established unit price for each separately identified item of Unit Price Work times the estimated quantity of that item as indicated in this paragraph 5.01.B: CONTRACT DESCRIPTION A. The work under this contract includes, but is not limited to, the furnishing of all labor materials, tools, equipment, transportation, permits, certificates, and temporary protection necessary for, or incidental to, the execution of the following: The Project consists of the construction of approximately 2,391 lineal feet of sixinch HDPE water line along Missouri Highway 3 and connections to the existing line at each end of the new water line, reconnections of existing service lines, and all the necessary appurtenances to make this a complete and usable water main. Approximately 1,266 lineal feet is to be bored along the south end of the alignment. B. The Contractor shall be responsible for scheduling and coordinating the work for all trades (other contractors and sub-contractors) under this contract. C. The existing water line must remain in service until the new water line is complete and ready to be tied in. The Contractor shall coordinate with the District. C. It is the intent of this Project that the District be provided complete systems, functioning as required and meeting the requisites of all Federal, State, or local codes and regulations. The Contractor shall be responsible for compliance with the intent of the contract drawings and specifications.
