The project consists of approximately 24,500 lineal feet of various sized Water Main Replacement from 6 inch to 16 inch in size, and approximately 5,720 lineal feet of various sized Water Appurtenance lines serving Fire Hydrants, Blow-offs, Combination Air Release-Vacuum Valves, and Customer Service Connections. The project is generally located from the east side of the Interstate 10 Freeway, easterly to Douglas Place, and includes portions of those adjoining streets, roads, and drives along County Line Road where the water line replacement project will tie back into the existing water system. The project is located within the City of Yucaipa (San Bernardino County), and the City of Calimesa (Riverside County), California. Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 10 percent (10%) of the Bid as defined in the Instructions to Bidders. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of 95 days after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. The Successful Bidder must furnish a 100 percent (100%) Construction Performance Bond and a 100 percent (100%) Construction Payment Bond with a surety company acceptable to South Mesa Water Company. At the time of contract award, and during the time of the contract, the prime contractor shall possess a Class "A" contractor's license and/or any combination of Class "C" specialty contractor's license(s) sufficient to perform the work. Pursuant to the provisions of California Labor Code Section 1770 et. Seq., the successful bidder shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations.
