As of December 6, 2024, an architect has been selected and this project is in the final planning phase. It is anticipated bidding will commence in January 2025. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The preliminary project description includes the evaluation of space allocation and design of a 31,600 square feet facility for modern usage. The source of funding is from the capital projects budget of the Washington-Centerville Public Library. The anticipated date for commencing design is July 31, 2023. The architect will provide full architectural services for design of changes to the facility, including any civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineering, and design for all interior furnishings, signage, equipment and shelving. The design architect will be involved during all phases of the project, from programming through schematic design, design development, bidding, and application for permits. The architectural firm also will be required to provide construction observation and management services. As required by Ohio Revised Code 153.65-153.71, Statements of Qualification will be evaluated and ranked on the basis of qualifications. The Library will enter into contract negotiations with the firm ranked most qualified. Statements received after this deadline will not be considered. Statements of qualification should include information regarding the firm's history; education and experience of owners and key personnel; the technical and design expertise of the firm's staff for this type of project; previous library projects completed by the firm; availability of staff; and client and contractor references.
